There's going to be a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie after all now that it has been announced that Johnny Depp will be back to reprise his role as Capt Jack Sparrow. And it will be the largest paycheck ever in Hollywood history - $64 Million!!
The first three Pirate films made a combined $2.6 billion at the box office so the studio can afford to put up the money for Johnny. And, thanks be to God, the franchise is going in a new direction - without the pouty Keira Knightley and wussy Orlando Bloom.
Let's hope this is a totally new Adventures of Jack Sparrow since that always been the real draw of the franchise. As long as Geoffrey Rush comes back as well, it should make for a great film.
In other news, the very busy Johnny, who played Dillinger in Public Enemies which is due out next year, will be playing the Mad Hatter in Alice In Wonderland and (possibly) Tonto in The Lone Ranger, and (possibly) the vampire Barnabus Collins in Dark Shadows.
