Tragic news to start the weekend: Idol singer and actress Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother Jason were both shot and killed on Chicago's South Side earlier today. Details are still murky, but reports are that it was a cousin who lived nearby discovered the bodies.
TMZ is reporting that Chicago police have put out an all points bulletin looking for Jennifer's seven year old nephew, who is now missing. They believe he may have been kidnapped.
Officers received a call shortly before 3 p.m. Friday, and upon arriving found the two victims. The incident has been declared a double homicide.
The Chicago Tribune reported that according to public records, the home is owned by Jennifer's mom, Darnell Donerson.
There's been no indication of where Jennifer was at the time, or if she was even in Chicago.
The husband of Jennifer's sister, William Balfour, is considered a suspect. He's not the father of the seven-year-old child.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Jennifer. This is so sad.
