Desperate Housewives actor Gale Harold is reportedly hospitalized in "critical but stable condition" following a motorcycle accident. He publicist initially only confirmed that the actor, who plays the boyfriend of Teri Hatcher's character, had fractured one of his shoulders.
It was Housewives creator Marc Cherry though, who confirmed later that Harold has swelling on the brain. Cherry stated that the actor is expected to recover fully after "a couple of weeks."
The accident should not interrupt filming on Housewives, Cherry told the Associated Press but did reveal that at least one scene needed to be rewritten, since the character of Jackson figures prominently in a November sweeps episode involving a nightclub fire.
In a statement, the Housewives production team said, "Gale is part of [our] family, and our thoughts and wishes are with him for a speedy recovery."
