British director Guy Ritchie and pop star Madonna are admitting what has been speculated about all year: that their marriage is finito and they are splitting up. No more lies, adopted kids from Africa, baseball player affair rumors, or stupid "everything is fine" photo ops, reps for the couple have confirmed the two are headed for a divorce.
Two big UK tabloids, The Sun and Daily Mail, are saying the divorce is "imminent."
"Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after seven-and-a-half years of marriage. They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time," read the short statement e-mailed to the Associated Press by Liz Rosenberg.
It's not known yet how much of Madonna's half a billion dollar fortune she'll lose in the split. Guy had a promising career as a director back in the day before he married the elderly whore.
Madonna, 50, is in currently on her Sticky and Sweet tour while, Ritchie, 40, is believed to be on the set of his latest film, Sherlock Holmes, with Robert Downey Jr.
