If you fell in love with the handsome bad boy brother-in-law of Elijah Wood's character in the 'Green Street Holigans' then you'll want to catch Charlie Hunnam on the new FX series 'Sons of Anarchy' beginning Wednesday night (3 Sept).
The series could flash and fade quickly - It's a family drama about an outlaw motorcycle gang with no direction or future, after all - so catch Charlie while you can.
In the series, the Sons of Anarchy (SOA) are led by Clay Morrow (Ron Perelman) and the gang controls the mean streets of Charming, North Carolina. Gang members have day jobs but they make their money by importing illegal weapons and selling them to African-American drug gangs in the East Bay. However, they keep meth traffickers out of Charming, which puts them at odds with the meth-distributing white supremacist "Nords" gang. The SOA also have to deal with a rival Oakland-based MC, or the "Mayans."
Charlie says of his starring role: "By the time we actually got to shooting, I was really, really comfortable on the bike. I do a little academic research and then really just go out into the world and try ... I felt that this character wasn’t too far away from the character or the world that I had investigated and explored for "Green Street Hooligans."
The English hunk also appeared in 'Cold Mountain', 'Children of Men,' and will also be in the upcoming Bruce Willis film 'Last Full Measure.'
'Sons' premieres tonight on FX.
