In a revealing tidbit of non-news today, Alec Baldwin has discovered he's actually an asshole and that's what everyone else thinks of him too. He revealing that he was so "humiliated" after his extremely harsh and rant-filled answer machine message to his 11-year-old daughter Ireland was leaked to the internet last year, that he contemplated suicide.
Apparently, having everyone know he's the father of a "thoughtless little pig" is embarrassing. But hey! There's money to be made in the kid's public pain - Baldwin has written an autobiography "A Promise to Ourselves: A Journey Through Fatherhood and Divorce."
In Touch magazine reports that the troubled ex-husband of Kim Basinger was remorseful about the private incident that was made public: "He writes about how he was serious about suicide. He definitely put a lot of thought into the different ways he could accomplish it."
But the 30 Rock star sought treatment instead. The source adds, "Alec writes in the book that a doctor told him he'd be no good to anyone-- especially Ireland-- if he destroyed himself."
The book comes out at the end of September. Don't buy it.
