Zac Efron is 20 and Wants Out of High School!

zac efronZac Efron has had enough of the squeaky-clean image and the bubble gum teen musicals and wants to do "something dark." Well, that's what HE wants - but the studio that owns him says he's gonna be doing a remake of 'Footloose'.

During Sunday night's Teen Choice Awards, which he attended with girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, 20, Zac told OK!, "I'm looking for something new and exciting to do. I want to do something dark or a comedy. There's tons of icons that I would love to work with on something new and exciting."

So far Zac, 20, has done nothing but musicals - a genre he once gushed over and vowed to revive. Well he's done that with High School Musical, High School Musical 2, High School Musical: Senior Year, and Hairspray. Does he have much of a shot at dark roles with a resume like that?
