Morgan Freeman Seriously Injured in Car Crash

morgan freemanPopular actor Morgan Freeman was involved in a serious car accident Sunday night near his home in Mississippi. The Dark Knight star was said to be traveling with an unnamed female passenger just north of the town of Ruleville at around 11.30 pm when the one car crash occurred.

According to online reports, Freeman was airlifted to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where he is currently receiving treatment.

The extent of his injuries are unknown, but state troopers tell website TMZ.com that the actor was talking at the scene of the accident before he was taken to hospital. It's not known what his condition is.

Freeman has appeared in, well, everything: The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Wanted, Million Dollar Baby, Amistad, Seven, The Shawshank Redemption, Unforgiven, Driving Miss Daisy, and Glory, as well as dozens of other films.

The accident follows the untimely death of his Dark Knight co-star Heath Ledger in January.
