Hide your babies, mommas, cuz when Madonna sees one she wants - nothing will stand in the evil bitch's way. The "Give It 2 Me" Girl wants to adopt another African baby from Malawi. The 2-year-old is named Mercy James and her extended family is fighting to keep her in Africa.
Madonna's henchmen are
Mercy's mother died in childbirth which is why she lives in an orphanage. But there seem to be other family members who, although they are too poor to look after her now, are wanting Mercy back when she's no longer a toddler.
A source says Madonna “fell in love” with cute lil Mercy when she saw her at an orphanage last year when she went to fetch David, who she adopted. It's noble for Madonna to want to help but she has uber-millions and can spread enough cash around to help not only the kids but their extended families.
The girl's grandmother, Anaphiri Ngalande, says: "When Mercy is no longer a baby we want her back. I do not want the money they said they'd give me."
Her other grandmother, Lucy Chekechiwa, said: “We know that it is Mercy who Madonna really wants. We heard it is because my granddaughter is such a beautiful, happy child. Twice I have told the adoption people that I do not want Mercy to go outside the country. But they keep on at us. Now they say that Mercy will be leaving us, but can return at age 18. Yet I might not be alive then."
But Malawian adoption minister Penstone Kilembe says the adoption is now well advanced: "Madonna's representatives have been visiting the girl. The adoption is now advanced — all the government is waiting for is Madonna to forward the petition of adoption formalities."
Vadge - who also has a 10-year-old daughter, Lourdes, and 7-year-old son, Rocco - decided to adopt another child from the African nation as a sister for David, "to redress the balance" in her family.
