Actor and musician Jared Leto and his band, 30 Seconds To Mars, are being sued by Virgin Records for $30 million for failing to deliver three albums. Under an agreement signed by the group in 1999, they were to release five albums for the label but only did two.
Virgin is claiming they "failed and refused to perform” under the contract even though the emo/rock band - which may or may not have broken up over the summer - had sold a million copies of their last album, A Beautiful Lie.
Documents released on Friday claim that Virgin Records America, Inc, “has been damaged in an amount in excess of $30 million, including lost receipts and profits from the three undelivered albums.”
A rep for the band tells TMZ that even though they have been signed to the label for nine years, they still haven’t been paid.
