Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres married her longtime girlfriend Portia de Rossi in the backyard of their home in Beverly Hills yesterday. According to a report in People magazine, The intimate ceremony was attended by 19 guests, including Ellen's mom Betty and Portia's mother Margaret Rogers who flew in from Australia for the occasion.
The couple, who exchanged handwritten vows, wore Zac Posen outfits for the ceremony - Ellen was in a white pant suit and Portia wore a backless light pink wedding dress.
Thus far, it's the biggest gay union to take place in California since the state legalized same-sex marriage.
Ellen, who began dating Portia (of 'Arrested Development' and 'Ally McBeal') in 2004, said: “I never would have thought my life would have turned out this way. To have money. Or to have a gorgeous girlfriend. I just feel so lucky with everything in my life right now.”
She has promised to her fans that she would show "a tiny bit" of the wedding on her show.
