The younger brother of freestyle Moto X rider Carey Hart died from injuries he suffered after crashing on Connecticut's Stafford Motor Speedway during a practice run on Saturday. Anthony Hart, 21, was airlifted to nearby Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Results of an autopsy are expected to be completed later today, but witnesses say Tony lost control of his motorcycle and hit the outer track barricade at roughly 3:30 p.m.
Racetrack officials said Tony, the younger brother of the ex-husband of rocker Pink, suffered fatal head injuries in the crash and was accompanied to the hospital by his father, Tom Hart.
"It is with deep regret that the Stafford Motor Speedway announced that, during a practice session, rider Anthony Hart, age 21, of Henderson, Nevada, succumbed to injuries received while participating in the event," the Speedway said in a statement Saturday night.
His famous brother Carey flew to Connecticut from Sturgis, S.D., after hearing of the accident.
