Jessica Simpson Not Country Enough for This Crowd

Whatever Jessica Simpson was selling - these country music fans weren't buying it. The blonde airhead was roundly boo'd during her first performance since announcing she was returning to her "first love" - country music - something even diehard fans of the reality TV show star hadn't heard before.

At Saturday night's Country Thunder Festival in T.i. Lakes, Wisconsin, the crowd greeted Simpson with a mixture of boos and cheers. She came on stage thinking she "looked" country - by wearing short Daisy Duke shorts and cowboy boots - then sang a non-country song - Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots are Made for Walking.” T.i.gs went downhill after that.

Salma Hayek and her billionaire French lover Francois-Henri Pinault have called off their engagement. So she'll probably get to keep the ring and the kid that he fathered last year. Ka-Ching!

Hayek, 41, and Pinault, 46, announced their plans to wed in March 2007, and their daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, was born in June 2007. The couple was expected to marry in a $3.5 million wedding next spring.

christian bale as batman Already touted as one of the best films of 2008, and the best role of Heath Ledger's short life and career, the Batman movie "The Dark Knight" is highly anticipated to smash all box office records this weekend.

Christian Bale is fabulous as the hero Bruce Wayne/Batman, but the movie belongs to its freaky dark force the Joker, played by Ledger, who portrays dementia and villainy like it's never been done before.

But since he spilled the beans, another "source" has come forward to say she is almost five months pregnant.

According to Star magazine, an insider says of the deal: "Mariah is one of the most popular performers around. She could easily become the Queen of the Las Vegas strip."

Vowing revenge, they are planning something dastardly to happen to her character Izzy - a brain tumor! (Spoiler alert, Schmoiler alert) Yes, A Brain Tumor! Ha Ha! Just put her in a nice looong coma for like 13 episodes. God, we can only hope...

Eva Mendes told Interview magazine that she had taken to carrying a knife while filming 'Training Day' in 2001 because, at the time, it made her feel empowered. That and she was afraid of over-enthusiastic fans excited about her nude scenes.

"That was my controversial stage where I’d just started acting. I went through my little 'Angelina Jolie' phase, like I was really tough. I had just come out in Training Day and I was nude in it, so I was getting a certain kind of attention."

spears It's been speculated that pop tart Britney Spears took one look at her newborn niece Maddie last month, realized her 17-year-old sister Jamie Lynn was a new mom to a little girl, and had some kind of mental or emotional "breakdown."

She cut short her trip to Mississippi and flew back to LA. A source says that for the next two days, Brit was "a bit dazed and distant", and wouldn’t answer any of her dad's questions and "had no enthusiasm for anything".

Grissom gone?? According to a new report, this season's 10th episode will be the last for William Peterson helming the CSI crew in Las Vegas, at least as a full-time series regular.

"Billy is leaving," confirms the show's executive producer, Carol Mendelsohn to the Ausiello Files at EW. "But he will remain throughout the run of the series an executive producer. And he will, whenever CBS asks, come back. I don't think you've seen the last of Gil Grissom."
