Fiery judge Sharon Osbourne has officially quit 'The X Factor' today citing as the reason that four years was long enough for her to do the show. Yet there are others who say Sharon's leaving is really over pay disputes. Or the fact that she just hates Danni Minogue's guts.
Friends of Sharon, 55, yesterday claimed that her unsuccessful demands for a massive £500,000 pay rise, bringing her contract to £2million per year, were partly responsible. Her bosses weren't going for it.
As for the other thing, an insider says: "It is very simple she is massively jealous of Danni Minogue, because she is young glamorous and there is a great chemistry between her and Simon [Cowell]. Her nose has been put out of joint over this."
On last year series of The X Factor there was said to be bitter behind-the-scenes hostilities between the rock star's wife and Danni.
"She feels ever more pushed out and demanded more money and was told no way. It is really a question that she has pushed her luck and the main problem has been that jealousy between her and Danni Minogue."
Her relationship with the show's producer Simon Cowell is still said to be fine and she is currently appearing as a judge on the new series of 'America's Got Talent'.
A friend of Sharon's said of the decision to leave X Factor: "It is what it is. She has done four years which is a long run and all good things have to come to an end.
"She is still filming in America, America's Got Talent is out next week and she has just done another series over there. She is doing a huge variety show and she has got a couple of documentaries she is doing. So she has got plenty of stuff on don't worry about that."
