Ali Lohan, the 15-year-old lil sis of Lindsay Lohan, is thisclose to landing a lead role in a $25 million remake of 'Troll'. How crap-tastic is that? Ali can destroy her career before she turns 16. Even Linds didn't manage that!
Over at E! Online, they are reporting that the pint-size Ali recently auditioned for the remake of 1986 camp classic 'Troll' and apparently impressed director John Carl Buechler enough to gush: "She was great. The camera loves her. She's a really good actress...I am personally going to fight for her."
And after seeing her act, Buechler admits that Lil Lohan is currently favorite to land the lead role in the film, which is a remake of HIS OWN 1986 movie Troll which starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Sonny Bono.
Why would a director re-make his own film? Is this do-overs?
He said in an interview last year that the modern special effects would allow him to finally "do it right": “The scale of this thing is huge, I guess it’ll be sort of like a cross between Lord of the Rings and Narnia. I’m really excited this time around. Technology has actually caught up with my original vision of a magical world, populated by a multitude of fantasy characters, and now I actually have a budget large enough to do it right.”
The film is about a young boy enters a parallel world of wizards and magic where he befriends a good witch. Soon the boy learns that he must save the world from an evil Troll/Wizard that has the ability to hide his essence within the bodies of others.
And yup, the boy wizard's name was Harry Potter and the film came out long before JK Rowling used it in her books.
