Tom Cruise admits he's said a few things the last few years he wishes he could take back, especially his 2006 slam on the idea that depressed new mothers are helped by taking medication for postpartum depression.
The Scientologist - who likely observed a few truths after wife Katie Holmes gave birth to daughter Siri - was publicly denouncing by Brooke Shields after he criticized her book about her own battle with the after-birth baby blues.
Cruise has since personally apologized to the actress for his remarks and now admits he regrets the comments he made, insisting he was wrong to suggest postpartum depression could be controlled by taking nothing stronger than vitamins.
In his exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey that was shown on her show last week, Cruise admitted, "It came out wrong, it's just not true. I was raised by four women who have children and babies. I'm not trying or want to tell anyone how to live their life or what they should believe or shouldn't believe."
Cruise went on to say he felt "pressed" by the media during that period of his life - and regrets saying a lot of things on TV.
He added, "I felt like I could've handled it better," admitting he regrets discussing Shields at all.
