Sharon Stone is known for off-the-wall comments but the shit hit the fan this weekend when she opined that the Chinese earthquake - which has claimed the lives of 80,000 people - was karma. The actress claims the get back by Gaia is because China invaded Tibet!
On the red carpet in Cannes the airhead, who mentions that she is a friend of the Dalai Lama, was unexpectedly asked to comment about the China tragedy. She replied:
"At first, I'm not happy with the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans ...and then all this earthquake and stuff happened and I thought, 'Is that Karma, when you're not nice that the bad things happen to you?' "
Despite the fact that earthquakes happen anywhere and everywhere on earth, she's oblivious to the fact that innocent Chinese civilians are not responsible for the invasion of Tibet. There is no "karma" to be paid by innocents. ever.
See-Yuen Ng, the Hong Kong movie mogul, said Stone's remarks lacked basic morality and his cinema line will consider banning the star's films in the future.
Hong Kong singer Nicholas Wu said, "Sharon Stone's remarks shocked and angered all the Chinese and everybody else around the world. To call a natural disaster, which killed tens of thousands of people, as 'karma', shows no respect for the Chinese people and no respect for life."
