The countdown has begun until the announcement that Scarlett Johansson and whatshisname (Ryan Reynolds) have officially ended their engagement. The starlet flashed an attention-getting diamond engagement ring Monday night at the Costume Institute Gala in New York and her publicity confirmed the news later. This is the first engagement for Scarlett, 23, and the second engagement for Ryan, 31, who was previously engaged to Alanis Morissette.
Scarlett fans shouldn't feel gutted about their girl getting engaged. Give it six months and these two will have quietly split because "their careers took separate paths" or some such suchness.
Oh and her new album drops tomorrow so all this publicity can't hurt...
