Mariah Carey and actor/rapper Nick Cannon ran off to one of her homes in the Bahamas and got married yesterday! The shocking, quickie, secret ceremony had very few friends and family in attendance. The over/under odds on this thing lasting will be about two or three months - slightly longer than the couple dated - which was all of one month.
Nothing has been confirmed by Mariah's rep, but according to a member of Nick's family, Linda Cannon, the rumor is confirmed that the couple did do the deed: “Yes, we know,” she told E! Online. “He called us and told us all about it. We are happy for him. If that is what he wants then we are happy for him.”
But this could end up to be a big headache for Mariah - the diva was in such a rush to marry Nick that she didn't have him sign a pre-nuptial agreement to protect her mega-millions.
“There was no pre-nup - there wasn’t time,” a friend of the best-selling singer tells the New York Post newspaper. The source added that the pair wed yesterday in a small ceremony on an island and it was “very impulsive”.
