Madonna has been given final approval to adopt two-year-old David Banda by a Malawi court.
The ruling comes 18 months after the pop queen started adoption proceedings for the child.
Justice Andrew Nyirenda described Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie as "perfect parents", with David’s father - Yohane - saying: "I am glad David has a new, good home."
Madonna was awarded temporary custody of David after choosing him from an orphanage in October 2006 when he was 13-months-old.
The star’s lawyer, Alan Chinula, said: "We are very happy with what the judge has ruled.
"It is a positive and beautiful judgment that will have an impact on Malawi's adoption laws."
