Divorce lawyers for Kevin Federline have come up with an unusual way to save their client some major coin. Instead of hiring private investigators to follow Britney Spears around every day, they simply check on TMZ.com to see what Brit is up to lately. That website, plus other paparazzi efforts, have saved K-Fed's law team at least half a million dollars.
"If I had to hire an investigator or investigators to provide me with the intelligence about what's going on, where they are, how are they doing," said attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, "it would be north of half a million to a million dollars ... as opposed to buying People magazine for $3.95 on Thursday morning or going on TMZ."
On the other hand, the need for TMZ may be dwindling as Britney is showing major signs of turning her life around. She's working again and there hasn't been a bat shit crazy story about her come out in a few months. She's even requesting longer visits with her children (K-Fed has custody).
The singer attended a meeting on Monday as part of her on-going custody battle with her ex-husband. An insider tells OK!: "With the tight leash that her dad has on her, it would take an act of God for her to not be there."
