Super couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie just paid a reported $70 million for a new home in the south of France not far from Aix en Provence. The 25-bedroom Chateau Miraval comes with vineyard, a moat, a lake, a swimming pool, and lots of fountains. And ponies. It's also comes as a surprise - since just last summer Brad had named New Orleans as his favorite place to live - and that has lots of water too! But Provence isn't Cajun French and besides, there's gonna be ponies. The kids are gonna love the ponies.
The 1000-acre chateau estate is said to be surrounded by a huge forest so paparazzi won't be able to take pictures of the couple or the kids.
"They’ll be moving in roughly three months and living there full-time," says a source who indicated the family wanted to be settled before Ange gives birth to her twins in August.
But Brad and Ange, who are also rumored to be wedded in a few weeks, couldn't stop gushing about their great love for New Orleans a year ago. Is the bloom off that rose? Brad especially remarked on how they loved the anonymity the Big Easy afforded them.
"Let me tell you, we're in this house in Prague right now and there's about 12 cars of paparazzi outside and some tourists with video cameras. I can't describe why we're allowed to live a more normal life in New Orleans," the actor told the Times-Picayune in May 2007 while the couple was in the Czech Republic filming Ange's movie Wanted.
He also mentioned he loved bicycling through the city's streets at night. "Living in the French Quarter is a thrill for us. We have some semblance of real family life. People have been very, very gracious with us. If we're on the front deck, people go by and say, 'Hi.' Then they go on their way, very friendly."
Let's hope the Pitts find the same peace and quiet in France with their growing brood of kids.
