CBS canceled its new reality show, “Secret Talents of the Stars” after only one episode when they discovered that
it sucked the B-list and C-list "Stars" they put in the competition didn't really have many talents, hidden or otherwise.
“Secret Talents of the Stars” premiered on April 8 and was quickly canceled after one lowly rated episode. The program was hosted by “Seinfeld” regular John O’Hurley and featured 16 stars who were to compete against each other in order to determine who has the best secret talent.
Sixteen "celebrity" competitors were meant to show off their skills in weekly episodes – practicing and then performing live. They were to be eliminated, one by one, until only one was left. Their elimination was determined by the three judges’ appraisals (Debbie Reynolds, Brian McKnight, and Gavin Polone) and viewer votes.
Country singer Clint Black (Sad. What was he doing on this show??) tried his hand at stand-up comedy while Star Trek actor George Takei likes to sing country. Perhaps Mr. Sulu would have been better at stand-up comedy?
Among the celebrities whose secret talents will remain secret are: Danny Bonaduce who unicycles (while looking for work on cable reality shows); singer Mya who tap dances; Marla Maples does gymnastics, and Playboy model Bridget Marquardt apparently has abilities with a bungee trapeze.
The debut episode on Tuesday drew an audience of only 4.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.
