Jensen Ackles is going from 'Supernatural' on the small tube to slasher on the big screen. The star is said to be in final negotiations to star in Lionsgate's horror/slasher remake of "My Bloody Valentine 3-D".
Ackles plays Tom who returns to his Montana home right around the 10th anniversary of a famous Valentine's massacre when 22 people died. And just like that the killings start again and natch, they think he's the evildoer.
Filming starts on May 12 and the release date has already been set as 23 January 2009.
You can currently catch Ackles on TV as Dean Winchester on "Supernatural." His other TV credits include "Dark Angel," "Dawson's Creek" and "Smallville."
Meanwhile, his Supernatural co-star Jared Padalecki will take on Jason Vorhees the hockey masked machete wielding psychotic killer of the highly successful Friday the 13th slasher movie franchise. That film will debut Friday, February 13, 2009.
