It's all speculation as to whether CSI's Gary Dourdan is leaving the show because he wants to pursue other acting gigs - or if he's being written out of the show. TV Guide's Michael Ausiello reports a CBS insider who says the actor was fired but that the producers were trying to be as "supportive and protective as possible" in portraying the departure as mutual.
Dourdan has had a number of personal problems flair up the past few years including being ordered to attend domestic violence counseling and attacking a TMZ paparazzi last summer.
The show hasn't confirmed he is leaving but rumor has it the May finale will be his last episode in the Vegas-based CSI.
An original cast member, Dourdan has spent eight years of portraying investigator Warrick Brown, and his contract is up at the end of this season.
