Happy Birthday to Harry Potter star Emma Watson, who turned 18 on Tuesday (15 April), and now is doing the Hermione thing and being a smarty pants about safeguarding her film fortune - some $20 million (GBP10 million). Emma has promised to attend 'millionaire school' in order to learn how to responsibly handle all that dough.
Her money will be managed by the English bank Coutts, who look after Queen Elizabeth's account as well as Daniel Radcliffe's.
Now that she's turned 18, she has access to the money, but she's also gone through a crash course in being rich, given by the bank at the request of her parents. The actress had to sit through three days of tutorials with other Harry Potter child stars including Tom Felton who plays Draco Malfoy.
A source close to Emma said: 'It was her parents, Chris and Jacqueline, who enrolled her at Coutts in the first place. The idea is for the money to grow and safeguard her future - not be blown in a couple of years of high-living."
Watson is rumored to be earning £3 million for her role in the sixth film 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince'. Her salary was increased by studio bosses after she threatened to pull out of the lucrative franchise to attend college.
