Patrick Swayze is prepared to do anything, go the distance, fight the good fight - even undergoing painful chemotherapy - in his battle against life-threatening pancreas cancer. Well, everything BUT give up his 3-pack-a-day cigarette habit?
In a cover story in the National Enquirer, Swayze was shown with a cigarette in his mouth after leaving Stanford Cancer Center for a treatment last week.
Facing the possibility of death within months after his pancreatic diagnosis, the Dirty Dancing star is still upbeat and ready to fight, his sister-in-law says. "I've never seen him scared of anything!" Maria Haapaniemi told Us magazine.
"He deals with everything the same way: He's determined, enthusiastic, full of energy and hope," she insisted.
Swayze's family told The Sun he is undergoing experimental treatment to save his life and is “determined to beat” pancreatic cancer. Swayze is enduring weekly chemotherapy combined with a new drug.
His mother Patsy said: “It breaks my heart to know he’s suffering. “But he bears it. He’s hanging in there and getting the best treatment he can. He doesn’t deserve to get this. He’s got such a big heart.”

He's be a lot better off if he'd quit smoking. If he really has any chance for survival, quitting smoking would be very helpful. Apparently doctors have urged him to quit to improve his chances for survivial.

Hey Patrick do yourself a favor and give up smoking. Smoking dosen't help you heel. It hurts your chances for the chemo treatments to work. If you rid your body of the smoke the treatments can do there job! Love you
