Will Smith has won a court case against a news agency which accused him of praising Adolf Hitler.
The actor has received an apology and damages from the World Entertainment news Network (WENN), which published an article titled: “Smith: Hitler Was A Good Person” in December.
Smith’s solicitor Rachel Atkins, told London's High Court the article was "deeply distressing" to the star and had caused him "acute embarrassment".
"The article alleged that the claimant had declared in an interview that Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler was a good person," Atkins said.
"The allegation is false and without any foundation.
"It wholly misrepresents the claimant's actual words, given in an interview to the ‘Daily Record’, a Scottish newspaper and website."
She added that Smith believed Hitler was a “vile and heinous man”.
WENN's solicitor has apologized for the "misleading allegations".
