Michelle Williams Issues Statement on Ledger's Death

michelle williams and matilda rose photo Michelle Williams has issued a statement on the death of her ex-fiancé Heath Ledger, saying: "My heart is broken."

Williams, who has a two-year-old daughter - Matilda Rose - from her relationship with the actor, urged in her short statement: "Please respect our need to grieve privately."

Ledger and Williams met on the set of their ‘Brokeback Mountain’ movie, in which they played a husband and wife.

The pair split up last September.

Ledger, 28, died in New York in January. The cause of his death is yet to be determined.

The actor’s body has been flown to his native Australia for a private burial.
