Kirstie Alley has been on a diet yo-yo for years, getting large and losing it, only to gain it back again. Was it too much for the Jenny Craig diet folks who have now officially replaced Kirstie by signing a slimmer celebrity, Queen Latifah, to be their spokeswoman?
Kirstie made some great commercials for them - including ones introducing Eddie Van Halen's ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli - and at one point had lost 75 pounds. But she didn't keep it off and therein lies the problem, at least if you want to be a spokesperson for a national diet program.
Once weighing more than 200 pounds (but looking more like 250), the Cheers actress slimmed down with the help of the popular diet regime. Recently reports have surfaced that Kirstie, 56, is struggling with weight issues once again and is back above 200 pounds.
Jenny Craig spokesman Scott Parker says, "Although Kirstie will not appear in future advertising endeavours for us, she does remain on Jenny Craig's maintenance program, and is confident that our program has helped her incorporate positive lifestyle changes that should last a lifetime.
"Now that Kirstie has 'passed her maintenance baton' to Valerie, you'll see a new campaign with a new celebrity client emerge in 2008. one that promotes health with Queen Latifah.".

I "Feel" for Poor Kristie, but I believe she is/was OVER 300 lbs. when she started her commercials. She is 5' 10-1/2" I am 5' 11-1/2". When I looked like her, before she started Jenny Craig, I was 338 lbs.
She tried to say she was under 225 lbs. I just laughed and called her a LIAR, @ 225 lbs. I wore a loose size 16. I was also Physically Fit from grooming and running Throrbred Race Horses. I was thick but I was SOLID not a marsh-mellow. After I was almost killed on the JOB by an idiot I got big as a house. Yikes!!! I have changed alot of what I eat and How much I eat and another IMPORTANT thing when trying to loose weight IS: YOU MUST EXERCISE!!!

p.s.
Jenny Craig had a stroke and has sold 51% of her company. She is charging somebody else for using her name. (how do I know, you may ask, I know a person that works for HER Horse trainer)
