From the crazy Katie Holmes Rumor Mill we have the newest controversy: that she was pregnant by former boyfriend Chris Klein before she hooked up with Tom Cruise. Kate had been with the American Pie star for 5 years and began dating Cruise weeks after her March 2005 split from Klein.
Daughter Suri was born in April 2006 though many conspiracy theorists think she was born weeks earlier, since it took 20 days for Cruise to sign the birth certificate. The latest rumor has erupted thanks to a "friend" of Klein's.
Klein's anonymous pal recently claimed to the National Enquirer that Suri wasn't the first child Holmes had conceived - even hinting the 29-year-old had undergone an abortion.
The friend told the publication: "Shortly after his (Klein's) relationship with Katie ended, Chris and I had a heart-to-heart. We were having dinner at Cafeteria, a restaurant in New York's Chelsea district, when Chris blurted out: 'Dude, you know I got Katie preggers.' "
"There was a long silence. I realized Chris had said more than he had intended. My next thought was: 'What happened to the baby?' (But) from the look in Chris' eyes, I realized this was highly personal. I didn't want to probe any further."
Naturally, a spokesperson for Kate says there is no truth to the allegations.
