Britney Spears and the staff at the UCLA psych ward must be getting along real well because they are now planning on extending her stay at the ward for a full 14 days.
TMZ report: It’s an internal process — done without a court order. But we’re told it will indeed happen, and that’s not surprising given her mental health. As we first reported, Britney’s been diagnosed with severe bipolar disorder."
The pop star was placed on an initial 72-hour psychiatric hold when she was admitted to UCLA Medical Center on Thursday morning following an intervention by her shrink and family members.
The stay was extended for two weeks under a section in state law that allows patients to be kept for medical treatment if they are found to be gravely disabled or a danger to themselves or others.
The troubled star is reportedly not a model patient - she threw a tantrum in the Resnick Neuropsychiatric wing of the hospital on Friday night when she learned that her father had won temporary control of her legal and financial affairs following an emergency court hearing.
