Amy Winehouse will perform at this year’s Grammy Awards, despite having her US visa application turned down.
The soul songstress and her beehive will be beamed live into the Los Angeles show from a London performance in the early hours of Monday morning. If she wins any of the six awards she is nominated for, Amy will make her acceptance speeches by satellite too.
"I'm raring to go and really excited to be performing at my first Grammy Awards," Winehouse said in a statement.
She added: "I'd like to thank everyone for their support over the last couple of weeks. I'm really sorry I can't be there but I appreciate that I'm being given a second chance via satellite."
Amy will leave the rehab centre where she has been treated for two weeks to prepare for her performance for the prestigious event.
Amy’s friends and family will make up the audience in her beamed studio performance, her spokesperson said, but said he did not know what track she will perform.
Her spokesman said an invited audience of friends and family would be at the studio, but he did not know what she would sing.
Among other performers on the night will be Kanye West, who is up for eight awards, Beyonce, Tina Turner and Alicia Keys.
