The new tell-all Tom Cruise biography is making shocking allegations that the actor has become the Church Of Scientology's second-in-command. Well, no that's not the shocking part - this is: the book claims Katie Holmes was impregnated with dead guy L. Ron Hubbard's sperm. Eww.
"Some sect members sincerely believed that Katie Holmes was carrying the baby who would be the vessel for L. Ron Hubbard's spirit when he returned around the galaxy," Morton writes.
In 'Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography', Morton alleges the Scientology religion, founded by science-fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard, relies so heavily on Cruise's celebrity to recruit followers, the actor is now considered second only to supreme leader David Miscavige.
Morton's book also claims the cruiser's movie career is built around Scientology's needs and that he carefully selected his wife Katie based on what is best for the religion.
Cruise's lawyer Bert Fields insists the biography is full of errors. He said: "Tom has been told about it and naturally he knows there are a bunch of lies about him. It's a boring, poorly researched book by a man who never talked to anyone involved in Tom Cruise's life or anyone close to him."
'Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography' is due for release in the U.S. on January 15. It is already in the Amazon.com top 50 a week ahead of its publication.
To prove Andrew Morton wrong, Cruise is suing for $100 million, which ought to discourage all of us from having any interest in reading it. Yeah, right. Got your copy ordered?
