File this under Tell Us Something We Don't Know: Cops in LA are saying Britney Spears was not on drugs the night of her meltdown when she refused to hand the kids back over to K-Fed and she won't be charged with anything. She was, however, going to be held up to 72 hours on a mental ward for "observation." Well, they observed her freak out and let her go this morning.
Police believe the children were not in danger even though they took Brit away in an ambulance Thursday. But the AP reports that Commissioner Scott Gordon granted Kevin Federline sole legal and physical custody of the children on Friday and Britney's visitation rights are suspended.
TMZ is learning that the "5150 hold" means that Biopolar Britney could have been held against her will for a max of 72 hours, but if the hospital determines she is no longer a danger, they can release her before that. TMZ also reported that Britney was uncooperative while at the hospital and screamed to be released.
Since she could not be held against her will, she walked out. And the drama continues...
