Ozzy Osbourne's bat coat sold for $3,300, his skull sneakers brought in $2,625 and a pair of the heavy metal rocker's trademark round glasses went for $5,250. All told, it was a very successful auction over the weekend at the Prince of Darkness' mansion which saw $800,000 raised for research. The proceeds are going to the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Among some of the other items that sold were a dog bed given to Sharon by Elton John which brought in $2,375.
Bidders came from as far as Germany to try and buy belongings from the Beverly Hills mansion formerly owned by the rocker and former star of "The Osbournes" reality show.
"We had Ozzy fans bidding against these sophisticated fine art buyers, which you don't see every day," said Darren Julien, owner of Julien's Auctions which ran the charity sale. "For the most part the metalheads were outbidding the art crowd."
Ozzy let go of artwork by Edouard Drouot, did not want to sell his prized pool table because he cherished the memories of playing with his kids as they were growing up. But he gave it up for cancer research and it brought in $11,250.
"For a celebrity garage sale, it was pretty spectacular," Julien said.
