Pregnant Nicole Richie has been given a leave of absence from her anti-drinking-and-driving school lessons.
The socialite was ordered to attend the classes by a court after pleading guilty to a driving under the influence charge, which stemmed for her 2006 arrest for driving down a Los Angeles highway the wrong way.
But Nicole’s been advised she doesn’t have to attend the classes while she’s pregnant.
"Anyone who is pregnant or has medical issues can leave the class,” a spokesperson says.
"It wasn't Nicole asking - she just showed up one day and the paparazzi were chasing her and she was exhausted.
"So the director of the program was concerned for her and suggested she take a leave of absence. She didn't get special treatment."
