When you think of a list of contenders for title of People's "Sexiest Man Alive 2007" you probably don't think of Howdy Doody - er Matt Damon - as the winner. Who makes up these lists anyway? Well People mag thinks he's sexy and besides, they can't give it to their favorites - George Clooney or Brad Pitt - every year. So this year, it's button-nosed Matt! Yawn.
People explained: "You've given an aging suburban dad the ego-boost of a lifetime," Damon, 32, told PEOPLE, explaining why he couldn't possibly accept the crown – which perfectly demonstrates many of the reasons we chose him in the first place: irresistible sense of humor, rock solid family man, heart-melting humility.
