Louis Vuitton has won an injunction banning Britney Spears’ Do Somethin’ video from European screens, two years after the video’s release.
The brand, a favourite with celebrities, took issue with its branding being used in a pink car Spears is shown driving. It claimed the video had "damaged their image" and used its branding without its permission.
Spears’ label Sony BMG and MTV Online were ordered to pay $117,600 to the company each, plus an additional $1,470 for every day the video remains on the internet.
The companies were found guilty of violating counterfeiting laws. However, Britney herself not fined or found guilty.
