Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas says she became schizophrenic while taking drugs to cope with the failure of her music career in her teens.
Stacey ‘Fergie’ Ferguson turned to drugs after spiralling into depression when her girl band Wild Orchid split.
"I started taking ecstasy. From there, I got into harder drugs and a bad place. I had chemically induced paranoid schizophrenia," she revealed.
"At one point I was sure the FBI were coming for me. I said, 'Okay, if you walk through that door and they're not out there, it's the drugs.'"
But Fergie finally battled her addiction, saying: "A voice inside me said, 'Listen, you can kick this.' So I stopped”.
