Akon has been charged by police after a fan said the hip hop star suffered concussion after her threw a teenager off the stage, hitting her earlier this year.
The star will appear in court next week to face charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment
Abby Rosa, who was injured in the incident, hired a lawyer following the concert at Fishkill’s Dutchess Stadium.
Akon is said to have thrown a 15-year-old boy, who was sent up on stage by a security guard after lobbing something at the singer, off stage, in to the crowd.
Rosa claims the teenager landed on her, with her later being diagnosed with concussion.
Akon's attorney says there is no basis for criminal charges.
