'24' star Kiefer Sutherland pleaded guilty to Driving under the influence yesterday and has agreed to serve 30 days in jail or his DUI conviction plus another 18 days for violating his probation following a separate drink driving arrest in 2004. And after that, Jack Bauer will have to enroll in a 18-month alcohol education course and attend weekly alcohol counseling sessions for six months. AND then he will be on probation for another five years.
The actor was arrested on September 25 after making an illegal U-turn in Hollywood when his blood alcohol level was found to be over the 0.08 per cent limit.
In a statement, the father-of-two said: "I'm very disappointed in myself for the poor judgment I exhibited recently, and I'm deeply sorry for the disappointment and distress this has caused my family, friends and co-workers on '24' and at 20th Century Fox."
Kiefer will be taken to a County Jail when he is officially sentenced on December 21, to immediately start serving his 18-day sentence. He will have until July 1 next year to serve the remaining 30 days.
