Johnny Depp says the U.S. is too frightening a place to raise a child in.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor currently lives with actress wife Vanessa Paradis and their two children; Lily-Rose, 8, Jack, 5, in Northern France and says he’d never return to his native America with his kids.
"I'm not particularly optimistic about society. We're in an age where everything has gone too far. It's an ugly world," he says.
"I'm truly frightened of America in terms of raising my daughter here. I don't believe that is an option at all."
