Foxy Brown's manager, Chaz Williams of Blackhand Entertainment, confirmed to MTV News that Foxy has been ordered into the hole at the Rikers Island Prison. A source told the New York Post reported that Foxy is set to remain in solitary for 76 days due to three separate infractions that occurred over the past 30 days.
The first of the three incidents occurred October 3 when the rapper and another female inmate got into a scuffle that had to be broken up by prison officials.
The next day, Brown was accused of verbally assaulting officials and refusing to take a mandatory drug test.
The Department of Correction reviewed matters and removed the rapper from general population and placed her in "punitive segregation." She is only permitted to leave for one hour each day to see visitors, meet with her attorney or participate in a limited number of recreation options.
The other inmate involved in the fight was given 11 days of solitary.
"She definitely is in solitary confinement for some infractions that were written up against her," Williams said. "Unfortunately for her, [the Post wasn't] accurate with some of the details, and some of the stuff that they are saying is really a result of her hearing problem". Foxy allegedly got into an argument with guards and she told them she didn't hear their order.
"Some of the details in the Post aren't as accurate, but she is in solitary confinement and she's faced with some disciplinary time to serve."
Foxy was sentenced to three years' probation in October 2006 after pleading guilty to assaulting two Manhattan nail salon workers during a skirmish over the bill. Then, after violating her probation with further assault accusations, the rapper was sentenced to a year in jail.
