The Spice Girls will record a song in memory of Princess Diana, according to reports.
The super girl group plan to include the song Lady as a double A-side with their comeback single Woman.
“They have always said how highly they thought of her and want to do something to pay their respects,” a source told the People newspaper.
Emma Bunton is said to have suggested the song idea after feeling “guilty” about the band having to turn down the offer to appear at this summer’s Concert for Diana due to her pregnancy.
The source added: Victoria Beckham “in particular became the next big thing in the media after Diana and in some ways they feel guilty about that”.
While Geri Halliwell “was a huge fan” of Diana and calls the Princess the “original Queen of Girl Power”. Ginger Spice “has been key in ensuring the single and video demonstrate that in a tasteful way”.
Woman is scheduled for release in November.
