Snoop Dogg has been sentenced to three years' informal probation and 160 hours of community service, after pleading guilty to possessing a collapsible baton in his bag at a Californian airport.
The rap star was arrested at John Wayne Airport last September. Snoop claimed the baton, which authorities class as a dangerous weapon, was a prop for a video he was filming in New York.
Under the terms of his plea deal, Snoop - real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr. - must also donate $10,000 to a children's charity.
The hip hop star was arrested for two other incidents in 2006 on marijuana and gun possession charges.
Snoop has been denied visas to enter the UK and Australia because of his criminal record.
