Police are investigating an incident where a bomb went off outside of a Manhattan non-profit theater owned by The Sopranos star Michael Imperioli. Authorities are still attempting to find out why the location was chosen for the device which exploded near the entrance at 1 a.m. on Tuesday.
No one was injured in the blast, but residents of an apartment block above Studio Dante were evacuated after the pipe bomb blew up.
Imperioli, who played Christopher Multisanti, told the Daily News he was "completely baffled" by the blast, saying he was unaware of any conflicts with the building's tenants or neighbors.
"This whole day felt like a hallucination. It's surreal," Imperioli said.
In a statement, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says, "While there certainly is no evidence that this was terrorism, we are taking this and every act of violence extremely seriously."
