Tommy Lee got punched in the face by Kid Rock last night at the post show of the Video Music Awards. Pamela Anderson's former flames traded heated words during Alicia Keys' performance, in a tussle apparently started by Tommy.
"I never hit nobody for nothing before," Rock was overhead saying in the lobby of the casino. "I told him to shut the f--- up."
Producer Rich Nice, said that it was Lee who intimidated Rock initially: "It looked like Tommy Lee initiated it because Kid Rock was ignoring him and Tommy Lee kind of antagonized him. And then when Tommy Lee stood up, it looked a little weird, like 'Yo, what?'"
Both rockers were escorted by security out of the Pearl Theater in the Palms Casino Resort.
According to a spokesperson for the Las Vegas Police Department, Rock was cited for misdemeanor battery for his assault on Lee. Rock was not detained or taken into police custody but was issued a summons.
Rock will have to return to Vegas for a future court date, and if convicted, he faces a $500 fine and up to six months behind bars.
