Owen Wilson Hospitalized After Suicide Attempt

Owen WilsonActor Owen Wilson was hospitalized Sunday afternoon in Santa Monica after a a relative found him stumbling down a street and called 911. The Butterscotch Stallion had apparently slit his left wrist and had taken a number of pills. He was taken to a local hospital.

Santa Monica Police issued the following statement: “On Sunday Aug. 26. 2007 at 12:10 PM, officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department at the 900 block of 23rd Street. The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated.”

Insiders are saying he has been distraught over his break-up with Kate Hudson in June.

Entertainment Tonight reported that the actor was transferred to Cedar-Sinai Hospital to receive detoxification treatment. Wilson's actor brother Luke was seen leaving the Beverly Hills' treatment center.
