Owen Wilson has asked for time to “heal in private” following reports he'd been taken to hospital after trying to kill himself.
"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time," the 38-year-old said.
Firemen and police officers were called to Wilson's home and transported a person to a local hospital for treatment over the weekend, a Santa Monica fire department spokesperson said. The fire official did not name the person.
The 'Wedding Crashers' star's spokeswoman, Ina Treciokas, has refused to comment on Wilson's medical condition or his statement.
